Year 5 RSHE Lesson – General Wellbeing (Mental & Emotional Health)

This Year 5 RSHE General Wellbeing lesson supports statutory Health Education by helping pupils understand how daily habits affect both physical and mental health. Children explore how sleep, nutrition, exercise, hobbies, social connection and time outdoors all support emotional wellbeing and resilience.

The lesson develops emotional literacy, teaching pupils to recognise a wide range of feelings, manage overreactions and use coping strategies such as breathing, journaling, talking to trusted adults and physical activity. It also sensitively addresses bullying, grief and loneliness, reinforcing help-seeking behaviour and safeguarding.
