Year 2 RSHE Lesson – General Wellbeing (Mental and Emotional Health)

This Year 2 RSHE General Wellbeing lesson supports statutory Health Education by helping children understand how to look after both their mind and body. Pupils explore how activities such as moving, resting, eating well and spending time with others can boost happiness and emotional wellbeing.

Children learn to recognise when feelings are small and when they become big or overwhelming, and are introduced to simple self-regulation strategies such as pausing, breathing and choosing reactions that match the size of the problem. The lesson also covers bullying awareness and reinforces the importance of seeking help from trusted adults when feelings feel too big to manage alone.
