Year 4 RSHE Lesson – General Wellbeing (Mental & Emotional Health)

This Year 4 RSHE General Wellbeing lesson supports statutory Health Education by helping pupils understand how to look after both their body and mind. Children explore how sleep, physical activity, fresh air, helping others and spending time with supportive people all contribute to positive mental wellbeing.

Pupils learn to recognise a wide range of emotions, understand over-reactions and practise self-regulation strategies using tools such as the traffic-light method to match reactions to the size of the problem. The lesson also addresses loneliness, bullying and grief, reinforcing the importance of speaking to trusted adults when feelings become overwhelming.
