Year 6 RSHE Lesson – Health Protection and Prevention

This Year 6 RSHE Health Protection and Prevention lesson supports statutory Health Education by preparing pupils to manage their own health as they move into secondary school. Pupils revisit healthy habits including balanced nutrition, hydration, sleep, dental care, sun safety and daily hygiene, with a strong focus on independence and routine building.

The lesson teaches how germs spread in busy school environments, how vaccinations protect individuals and communities, and when to seek medical support. Pupils learn to recognise early warning signs of illness and understand the importance of acting quickly if something does not feel right.
