Year 5 RSHE Lesson – Health Protection and Prevention (Staying Healthy)

This Year 5 RSHE Health Protection and Prevention lesson supports statutory Health Education by helping pupils understand how everyday choices protect long-term health. Children explore hygiene routines, dental care, sleep, hydration, balanced nutrition and sun safety, and learn how germs spread and how vaccinations help protect communities.

The lesson helps pupils recognise early warning signs that their body needs support, such as ongoing tiredness, rashes or pain, and reinforces when to seek help from trusted adults or medical professionals. Strong safeguarding links promote health-seeking behaviour and early intervention.
