Year 2 RSHE Lesson – Health Protection and Prevention (Staying Healthy)

This Year 2 RSHE Health Protection and Prevention lesson supports statutory Health Education by teaching children everyday habits that help keep their bodies healthy and safe. Pupils learn about handwashing, tooth brushing, balanced diets, drinking water, outdoor play and getting enough sleep.

The lesson explores how germs spread and how hygiene routines help prevent illness, as well as sun safety and the importance of protecting skin in hot weather. Children are introduced to vaccinations in an age-appropriate way and learn to recognise symptoms that mean they should tell a trusted adult.

This lesson strongly supports safeguarding and early help by reinforcing when and how to seek medical or adult support.
