Year 5 RSHE Lesson – Healthy Eating (Nutrition, Labels & Balance)

This Year 5 RSHE Healthy Eating lesson teaches pupils how balanced nutrition supports growth, energy, learning and emotional wellbeing. Children learn about food groups, calories, portion sizes and reading food labels using traffic-light systems.

The lesson explores healthy relationships with food, emotional eating, sugary drinks and long-term health risks, while promoting balance rather than restriction. Pupils are encouraged to speak to trusted adults if worried about food or health.
