Year 5 RSHE Lesson – Drugs, Alcohol, Tobacco & Vaping (Substance Safety)

This Year 5 RSHE Substance Safety lesson helps pupils understand how cigarettes, vapes, alcohol, medicines and illegal substances harm growing bodies. Children learn about addiction, legal age limits and why these substances are especially dangerous for children.

The lesson builds refusal skills, teaching pupils how to say no confidently, walk away from unsafe situations and report concerns to trusted adults. Pupils also learn what to do if they find harmful substances in the community.
