Help pupils shift their mindset, celebrate everyday moments, and build a positive school community with the Gratitude: Our Everyday Joy Assembly Pack. Aligned with national PSHE Association guidance and statutory RSHE mental wellbeing outcomes, this plug-and-play assembly presentation teaches primary children that gratitude is not about having everything you want. It is about appreciating the wonderful things already around us.
Using memorable visual metaphors such as trading cloudy "Gray Glasses" for an internal "Golden Spotlight," watching sunflowers turn toward the light, and discovering the honeybee’s celebratory waggle dance pupils learn how actively noticing the good transforms their mood and perspective. The presentation also showcases inspiring real-world action through the story of Captain Tom Moore walking laps in his garden to say thank you to the NHS.
The pack provides a 4-step "Gratitude Toolkit" (finding three positives each day, speaking thanks out loud, sharing gratitude notes, and paying kindness forward) alongside cognitive reframing slides to counter comparison, grumbling, and wet-playtime blues. Pupils also explore the unsung "Helping Hands" across their school including cooks, cleaners, and lunchtime supervisors learning how a simple "thank you" lights up someone's day.
