Year 4 RSHE Lesson – Physical Health and Fitness (Being Active)

This Year 4 RSHE Physical Health lesson supports statutory Health Education by teaching pupils how regular physical activity strengthens the heart, muscles and bones while improving mood and confidence. Children explore many ways to stay active, including PE, sports, active travel and movement breaks.

The lesson introduces healthy weight in an age-appropriate way, explaining that health is about feeling strong and energised rather than appearance. Pupils learn when to seek help if they are worried about their own or someone else’s health.
