Year 2 RSHE Lesson – Basic First Aid (Emergencies and Getting Help)

This Year 2 RSHE Basic First Aid lesson introduces children to how they can help safely when someone is hurt or unwell by staying calm and getting adult support. Pupils learn who they can go to for help, including teachers, teaching assistants, parents and carers.

Children learn what to do if someone has a bump, cut or head injury, why they must never touch blood or wounds, and when an emergency requires calling 999. The lesson builds confidence in recognising emergencies and acting responsibly.

This lesson supports statutory Health Education and emergency preparedness in KS1.
