Year 1 RSHE Lesson - Basic First Aid (Statutory Relationships Education)

This Year 1 RSHE Basic First Aid lesson introduces children to how they can help safely when someone is hurt by staying calm and getting a grown-up. Pupils learn who they can ask for help at school and at home, including teachers, lunchtime staff, parents and carers.

Children learn what to do if someone has a bump, cut or head injury and why they must never touch blood or try to treat injuries themselves. The lesson also introduces the concept of an emergency and explains when and how to call 999 in a clear, child-friendly way.

This lesson supports safeguarding, emergency awareness and confidence in seeking help.
