Year 2 RSHE Lesson – Personal Safety (Hazards, Roads, Rail and Water Safety)

This Year 2 RSHE Personal Safety lesson helps pupils recognise everyday hazards and make safer choices at home, school and outdoors. Children learn about risks such as fire, sharp objects, hot surfaces and slippery floors, and what to do when they spot something unsafe.

The lesson covers key accident-prevention topics including road safety, railway safety and water safety, teaching children to stop, look and listen, stay with trusted adults and follow safety rules. Pupils practise what to do if they feel unsafe, including telling a grown-up and moving away from danger.

This lesson supports safeguarding, risk awareness and personal responsibility within statutory RSHE.
