Year 2 RSHE Lesson – Developing Bodies (Growing and Body Safety)

This Year 2 RSHE Developing Bodies lesson supports statutory Relationships and Health Education by helping children understand how bodies grow and change over time. Pupils learn correct names for body parts and that everyone grows at their own pace.

The lesson teaches body privacy, personal boundaries and consent, explaining that parts covered by underwear are private and that no one should touch them without permission. Children learn to recognise unsafe situations, bad secrets and how to report concerns to trusted adults.

This lesson is strongly aligned with safeguarding and child protection guidance.
