Year 1 RSHE Lesson - Developing Bodies (Statutory Relationships Education)

This Year 1 RSHE Developing Bodies lesson supports statutory Relationships and Health Education by teaching children that all living things grow and that people change as they get older. Pupils learn about body parts and understand that some parts of the body are private.

The lesson reinforces body safety and consent by teaching children that they can say no to anything that makes them feel uncomfortable and that they should always tell a trusted adult if someone hurts their body or makes them feel unsafe.

Children are reminded that they have the right to grow up feeling safe and that there are always adults who can help and answer questions.
